How do you win a Vitamix 5200?

You submit a winning 4 (four) minute organic recipe for a blender in one of four categories:

  • Soups
  • Sauces and Salsa
  • Smoothies
  • Desserts

Soups actually take a little longer in a Vitamix than four minutes – but not much – because they may take a little longer to get hot.

There will be four semi-finalists chosen, one for each category.

And one finalist.

Fruit and Yogurt Shake

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 cup frozen organic berries (blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry or mixed)
1/2 banana
1/2 cup organic plain yogurt or kefir
1/2 cup cold water
1 serving rice protein powder (serving size depends on the brand of protein powder you use) Optional.
2 Tbsp. flax seed meal
2 ice cubes

BEANLESS SUPER HUMMUS (A RAW & VEGAN RECIPE):

8 ounces raw organic, shelled SUNFLOWER SEEDS (You can soak these in pure water overnight – at least 8 hours – and then rinse well; Or, just throw’em in!)

6 Tablespoons of raw organic TAHINI [For a different flavor, you can also use a raw organic nut or nut butter butter of your choice. – My two favorites options are raw organic almond butter, or raw organic cashews.]

2 teaspoons CELTIC GREY SEA SALT

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh organic GARLIC

1/3 Cup organic LEMON JUICE

1. Add all ingredients together and blend well.

2. Store in fridge. Hummus goes well with crackers, bread, veggies and salads of many kinds! Experiment and have fun!

3. OPTIONAL: You can also add 1-2 cups of fresh parsley and an ounce or two of pure water, for a “greener” tasting option.
